  • SNM New Volume!

    Dear visitor, 

    It has taken a bit longer than we had anticipated, but we can gladly inform you that Studies on National Movements has now officially been relaunched with a new volume!

    The volume is centred around a NISE conference that was held in Prague in 2016, titled 'Protagonists of national movements’. 

    The publication of this next volume is only the first step in the gradual transformation of SNM, and we do hope that in the near future we will be able to convey to you further changes. We hope you enjoy this volume, and hope that this marks the beginning of a new era for SNM!

  • SNM re-launch!

    As our visitors have undoubtedly noticed, the SNM website has been offline and/or limited in its use for more than a year. After a series of security breaches, a solution was not easily found. Several attempts to save the original website proved to be unsuccessful, and it was decided to renew our digital infrastructure from scratch. The new OJS platform (version 3) offers more stability and has the additional benefit of having a better look. Changes in the design and functionality of the new website can be expected in the next few months.

    We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and hope to be back on track with a new volume on short notice. In the meantime, do not hesitate to contact me with questions or remarks.

    Welcome to Studies on National Movements (SNM). This international online journal is devoted to the comparative historiography of national and regional movements and the theory formation of nationalism.

    Studies on National Movements is published by NISE, the platform for scholars as well as research and heritage institutes. The journal has an editorial board, consisting of renowned experts in nationalism studies. Copy editing is taken care of by the NISE Coordination Centre.
